I recommend anything written by Christopher Moore.

So far, I've only read Practical Demonkeeping and Lamb, The Gospel according to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal, both were very good. I'm currently reading Coyote Blue, his second book. I think you'd like any of his work.

Its hard for me to reccomend books because I'm pretty much singularly a horror novel reader.

I did enjoy:

"Odd Thomas" and "Forever Odd" by Dean Koontz

The Bone Collector (lincoln ryhmes is the main character) loved them all....

I'm late to the party, but the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. It starts with Guilty Pleasures. Vampy and creepy and awesome and then it turns into near-erotica by the end of the series. Fun read.
