My Growing Family

(For the love of all that is sacred...No... I am not having a child. Fooled you with that title though, didn't I?)

Well, as of last Friday, my mom and dad started going through the process to acquire me two new sisters. Now that the two little girls are legally severed from their father, my parents have started the adoption process. So, I will have two baby sisters. My parents are having their names changed to Hebrew names. They will be Sussannah (formerly known as Lexine) and Aliyah (formerly known as Allie). They are good little girls and deserve the best.

Sussannah is the older of the two at three years old. Aliyah is two. Sussannah has a disease called neurofibromatosis. It causes tumors to grow on the ends of her nerves. Right now her case is listed as "moderate", but I have to admit my ignorance on the subject. I know little to nothing about diseases. I do know that this is not something to be taken lightly though. For more info:

My brother thinks my parents are crazy for adopting these little girls. But, I think if it makes them happy, then they should enjoy it. Especially seeing as they will more than likely not be getting any grandchildren from me.

How wonderful! So many children need homes. Anyone who adopts must be an angel!

I'm not sure if I'd have changed their names though. By their ages they're usually associating their names with themselves.

I think your parents are doing a wonderful thing. One of my closest friends was adopted when she was young, having been taken from a mother who - although she loved her - was simply not capable of looking after her. She has had a wonderful happy life. Big thumbs up for Utopia's parents!!
