The Weekend in Perspective

This weekend I did a lot of stuff. This means I didn't actually MUD much. This means that despite it all I do actually have a life outside of the internet. Which, in itself is reassuring and makes me feel a little better about myself.

Friday I spent the day with my in laws. It was my granny's Birthday as well as the father-in-law. So we went out to dinner and gave them gifts. It amazes me that people put so little thought into their gifts. We actually got granny something she wanted and asked for: a yarn-baller. We got my father in law a Swiss Army pocket knife with a detachable geek stick (USB drive). He was very excited about it and kept showing it off to all his friends all weekend. That makes you feel are warm and fuzzy and stuff.

On Saturday, we went to another Birthday party for a friend of ours. He turned 50 and had quite the birthday bash. There was much whiskey, beer and scotch involved in this party as it was flowing like the proverbial water. About half of the gifts he recieved were 14+ year bottles of single malt. We got him a Totoro poster and a copy of the movie because he said he absolutely loved the movie when we lent it to him.

Sunday... well Sunday I was a naughty little monkey. I spent 70$ on anime. I probably shouldn't have, but I did. I bought Nadia (the whole thing, so it really wasn't all that expensive). I came home and watched 28 Day Later and Dodgeball. I watched these because I joined Netflicks and these were some of the first movies to arrive from my queue. I do love the zombie movies. While I was watching these, I was writting thank you cards for the gifts we got from our wedding.

Also, I caught up a bit on my reading. Finished three books and I am reading (Gods I am a bloody moron... but that was a nifty typo) ready to go to the library again.

On a side note, apparently Jeckles over at the Shitty Blogs Club isn't getting enough lovin' lately. So, I shall give him some linky love. I also left him some comment love because he just had to go and piss and moan about the lack of it lately. Also, he is apparently in tech support, and I know those poor, unappreciated bastards need much lovin. So... here is to you Jeckles! You're my Fucking hero with a capitol F. Of course, I don't know why I'm giving you linky love because you havn't even added me to the Shitty Blogs Club Bloggroller you lazy fuck.
