Lord John Whorfin: Where are we going?
Red Lectroids: Planet Ten.
Lord John Whorfin: When?
Red Lectroids: Real soon.

Planet 10 Discovered

That's right folks. Today they announced that Planet Ten is official. UB 313 is what it's called right now. But, we all know soon it will get a more classical name. What will they go with though for this one? I hope they stick with the Roman theme. Perhaps we can get another Goddess in there. I am rooting for Minerva or Juno. Possibly Ceres or Vesta, though to be honest, Vesta would be a better name for Earth. But, more than likely it will be named after a God rather than a Goddess. Maybe they'll call it Bacchus. Oh yeah... God of wine and throw down parties.

Of course, they could go on a tangent and be silly. well, we shall see. I look forward to seeing what comes of this. I am sure all of the new age people will be swooning over this one.

Typekey

« June 2005 | Main | August 2005 »

Well, as some of you (the two people who actually read my blog) may have noticed, my comments are typekey protected. Why? Well, because I'm a bitch like that I suppose. *gasp* Did I just use the b-word. Yes, yes I did.

Anyway, for the next week or so, I am going to turn off the Typekey and see if people leave comments. (Aside from those lovely spam comments, oh, how I loooooove those.) if people do, I may leave it off, if not, then bugger it, I'll turn the typekey back on or take comments out altogether.

On a side note, I will never protect my entries. honestly, I have nothing that important to hide. I'm not going to be putting up any secrets and it's not like I have a huuuuge reader base anyway.

Sorted!

Ye flipping gods, I have got to stop doing these things.

You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart.

You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil.

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind.

Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means
to achieve their ends.

Ravenclaw!

Sort me!

This... was not a surprize at all.

Coyote Woman Sings (a.k.a. I like haiku)

Coyote

Coyote Woman
Walking through the universe
Stars falling inward

Silent Howler's dream
Saguaro twilight evening
Crescent moon rises

My inner totem
Mentor who guides me in life,
laughing me to sleep.

You; trickster-hero,
Sorceress, thief, wanderer,
Teach me in my dreams.

Your toothy grin is
smiling as you sing the moon-
making the night glow.

Coyote Woman
Sing me your lessons, and be
my spirit mother.

Everyone talks
about old Coyote man.
You're his match woman.

Old coyote Man
trouble maker, same as you,
But you don't get caught.

Chaos lives in you.
In me, you breed your power,
creating insight.

You're smarter than truth
Peyote dreams are your pranks
your secret wisdom.

Coyoto Woman
You are me, I am your child
Howling down the Moon.

So, today I found out that someone does in fact read this blog. Wacky. And here I thought I was talking to myself. Well, still, I am talking to myself and anyone else who happens to read this will just see me talking to myself in long, rambling rants or babbles. I do tend to babble when I talk/think to myself.

I am already thinking of a new design for the blog. I would like to make some more graphics but I don't know when I'll have time to actually get around to it. I don't even know really what I would like to go with. I am digging on the white, but I may start to lean toward more greys and silvers. I may even go with an interface design. I don't know yet. I’ll probably stick with the art nouveau theme I have now. How many of you out there actually realized that it was indeed art nouveau?

Ahhh... it depresses me to think that there are so many people out there who are so... dehydrated of cultural and historical knowledge. I suppose many people don't think these things to be important. How many people actually bother to read a book these days that hasn't been recommended by Oprah? Go to an art show? Listen to the symphony? Go to an opera? Etc.

I love math and science. Love it. But I would whither away and die if I didn't get my literature, history, music fix every now and again. I try to read a book a day. Some weeks I am too busy and I hate those weeks. I read to relax, to think. While I may think doing the math and the science, I get to think in a different way when reading. I listen to a show on NPR called "Adventures in Good Music". (Yes, yes; I know my dork side is showing.) Now, it is mostly classical music, but it is also quite interesting. I highly recommend this program if you are interested in music and composers. Tonight I am especially looking forward to the show as it will be focused around Spanish composers.

Adjusting between Games

Lately I have started playing a second roleplaying MUD. While, in my opinion, it's not as good as Shadow Siege, I have been playing it more often. At least actively doing something on it. Of late, I feel like Shadow Siege has been a desert, a few skittering tumble weeds blowing across the horizon, but as a whole, nothing much going on. I know that part of the reason is that, frankly, I'm not on during the day like I used to be. I work now. because of this, I feel completely and utterly uninvolved in any of the main plot (or any plot for that matter). I feel uninvolved in general.

I know the nature of one of my character is to generally be uninvolved, but I have started playing my second more often. Of course, she hasn't had interaction with any player in some time despite the fact I keep her in public areas. (I tend to keep both of my characters in public areas). So, because of the waste land of RP lately, I have started playing another MUD as well as Shadow Siege. I must admit that this is at the request of a good friend of mine.

Now, I have been spoiled with Roleplay by SS. Well thought out posts, intelligent people, good grammar. But, it wasn't until I started playing the new MUD (Cities of M'Dhoria for those who care) that I realized how spoiled I had truly become. I realized that the people who play "evil" character on SS play them really well. They aren't pointless murderers or psychopaths. They have a reason to do what they do and do it well. Now, those of you who know me from SS wouldn' know it, but I like to play "evil" character. So, on my new game I decided to make one. Now, I don't mean to brag, but I put many of the "evil" character to shame rp-wise on the new game. SS has definately raised my standard for roleplay in general and I find the normal one line emote (or worse yet... social command) blase. I find myself always emoting rather than using the social commands and my emotes are longer and more frequent than most other peoples. Apparently I am also one fo the few people who actually uses the "think" command on there. I have always felt that this command is truly vital to play a really good evil character. A character is not evil because of what they do, but why they do it and how the accomplish it.

This dual gaming has kept me entertained during the dry spells on SS, but I know now I will never, ever leave Shadow Siege. It is probably one of the finest roleplaying games out there. (Or perhaps it is just the people who make it so great.)

I really hope that the dry spells end soon. I have been thinking of ways to get more people active and involved with more characters. And I think soon I may have a mini-plot put together to go into the game. I hope to involve as many people in it as possible, but we'll see.

My Inner Dragon
July 25, 2005
« June 2005 | Main | August 2005 »

Time Dragon

  • In the war between good and evil, a Time Dragon tends to walk the fine line of Neutrality.
  • When it comes to the powers of Chaos vs. those of Law and Order, your inner dragon is a risk taker and answers to no one.
  • As far as magical tendancies, Magical spells come as natural to the Time Dragon as breathe from it's body.
  • During combat situations, whether by spells or by claw, your inner dragon will do whatever it takes to get the job done.

A rare and unusual dragon, seldom seen due to its ability to shift through time. However, seeing time dragon often means great changes and unusual events are about to occur. A time dragon is transparent in coloring, much like an irridescent smooth wine glass or glass catfish. Young time dragons are playful and inquisitive, able to teleport themselves at an early age. as they mature their scales take on a more irridescent hue, sometimes reflecting more of a blue, green or red coloring.

Mature time dragons are reclusive, but have been known to involve themselves in the affairs of humans for reasons that no one can be quite sure of. Their ability to travel through time makes them virtually omniscient, as they have seen first hand the outcomes of fate.

Time dragons often are incredibly intelligent and even tempered, but can be extremely confusing to talk to. They are consummate planners, able to set up chains of events that have repercussions beyond the scope of human understanding. In Combat, time dragons are nearly invulnerable, teleporting away at will or simply stepping out of time all together. When provoked, the unlucky opponent will find themselves not assaulted by one dragon, but many of the same dragon, as it will travel back in time to assist itself in combat.

This Dragons favorite elements are: Time, Change, quartz

Updates and such

Well, I've updated the look a bit on my blog. Alsa, it still looks like arse in IE. Why is this? Why does IE thwart Movabletype so? I think it is because it hates me. Bah on you Gates! Bah I say! So, I have gone in search of a fix. I do not know how long it will take me to find one, I am reading through the pages and pages of babble in the movable type handbook. I think I shall soon have it. For those of you who have IE, you'll see that the banner repeats itself when it shouldn't. Bleh. Anyway, if you're still using IE, you should switch to firefox. It is the superior product.

Anyway, because I was working on this blog, I didn't get the chance to work on my roleplay blog. I really do want to get that done. I think I will work on the new graphics tonight. I have most of the .css sheet done, for the most part, all I have to do is put it together and hope it works. It may, it may not. We shall see. I would like to stick with the theme of red for it, but I don't like the background I have for it now so that will be going away. I would also like to make rounded edges and give the whole page a bit softer feel. I think I can swing it.

This week, I am working out in the field doing FDA standards for a product we're hoping to launch. I won't be around very much because of this. Thankfully, the hospital I am going to be doing all my testing in is infinately closer to my house than my office. I can drive there in five minutes as opposed to 40 minutes (without traffic... well over an hour, usually pushing 2 hours in traffic). It isn't bad. I can go home for lunch. Today I had sammiches. I love, love, love a good sandwich. Tomorrow, my husband tells me he'll be making crab quesodillas. Yum. Cheesy crabby goodness all rolled up in a pocket of yum.

Aside from all of that, the people consolodating my student loans fubared everything up and now I have to deal with it all over again so I don't have to go to court. Fun eh? I should have been more on the ball with that and paid more attention to the consolodation of it all. No one to blame but myself. Now I just have to go and wrestle with them on the phone and try to fix the whole blasted thing. I have no idea how to do this, but I can only start at the beginning. It would be much easier if I wasn't working 50+ hours a week right now. Ah well, who needs sleep anyway? Besides, it's three hours earlier there.

Well, this week ought to be fun filled and otherwise insane.

This is me trying out a few things.

This is me testing a blockquote. Does my blockquote work in all its extra spiff glory/ yes, no? Maybe? we shall see!

Well, yes, I am messing around with my blog. I am changing to fluid containers and all that jazz, but i think I will be sticking with the colour and theme for now. mostly because i havn't even started thinking about new graphics.

Quiz: Ewan McGregor

« June 2005 | Main | August 2005 »

Now Ewan is one sexy beast. I have, quite literally, seen all of his movies. Even the really bad ones and the ones that were only on HBO. I obsess only a little bit. I will of course be seeing his new movie "The Island" next week. Yum. Now, if Heath Ledger and Ewan McGregor could do a movie together, I would die a happy camper.

Everybody wants to know what Johnny Depp Character they are. I mean, he is like the epitome of cool and sexy. Of course, I am more a fan of Ewan Mcgregor... rawr... but that is another quiz altogether.

You Are Gilbert From "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?"

You are very giving and self-sacrificing. You're always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends. However, this generous nature often robs you of fulfilling your needs and desires, and may cause you to become resentful. Find a way to balance your kindness with your independence.

Well, I am workinng on makingthis site work right in Internet Explorer. It's been bothering me that it looks great in FireFox, but not in IE. I don't know why this bothers me, as IE sucks, but it does. I am also thinking about updating the look and style of the blog.

I'm not sure what I'll be doing for graphics yet, but I would like to play around with it a little bit. I like the simple white so I think I'll be sticking with that for now. Ah well, I'll see what inspires me.

Since no one actually reads this blog, I'll play around with it for a while. I may even rebuild the .css file from the round up and see what it gets me. Woo... wacky I hear the crickets twitter. Well, bah on you cricket. I shake my fist at thee and laugh.

On a side note, I am also thinking about updating both of my roleplaying blogs. I am already working on new graphics for Tzoli's and I think I'll get to work on Umi's as well. For Umi, I was thinking about a whole new layout that will probably take me a little longer that Tzoli's. I have been reading up on MT a bit more and I think I can finangle something much nicer than what I've got now. However, for Tzoli's, I was thinking about all new graphics as the ones there now don't really do it for me. In my head I see what I want, but we'll see if it actually works out.

I probably won't get a whole, lot done on either of these until the weekend when I should be working on building (and probably will be, hopefully). I want to finish all the room descriptions for both of the zones I have in the planning and I should be able to crank those out in a few hours if I'm on the ball. We'll see what happens with that.

What else? Hrmm. New TV. Nice 27'' flat screen. I got a new anime series I've been wanting and watched it: Now and Then, Here and There. Pretty darn good if you ask me. I recommend it. I would give it 8 anime school girls out of 10.
