Returning to the fold

Oh Wow.

Even after almost a year, my blog is still here. Even though I've been living under an internet-less rock, it still exists. All praise Webkittyn and her fantasticnessness. I hope she won't mind if I start using it again, now I've moved into my new place and have ze precious internet back....

But first, as always, the template needs a huge overhall and I need to archive some stuff and all sorts.

Well, here goes...

Blah blah blah...

Well, today is the lst day of my mini-break from work. My four day holiday. And what have I done with it? Bugger all. I haven't fixed the template up for this place. I haven't finished any other computer related work. I played some Syrnia and ate too much, that's what I did do. I also went out last night for my mothers birthday, but I don't know how much two cocktails, one glass of wine and a salad really count as 'doing something'. Hubby has been working, so I suppose that put a damper on my time off. Now all I have to do is go back to work and look forward to pay day. And my mothers departure for England on friday... then the arrival of my brother's best-friend and my brother's father the wednesday after.Or is it the wednesday after that? I don't know. I don't care.

Morning of Freedom!

Today I'm working the really, really late shift at work - 5 in the evening until 1 in the morning. Bleh, seriously, what other coffee places are even OPEN at that time?
For those of you that don't know, I have the totally unglamourous job of..... Starbucks Barista. Actually I like th job, but that is besides the point - what is really sad is that I get a better wage from Starbucks than I did as a timeshare accountant or working for an estate/law firm. Isn't that kinda sad? I know for a fact the people at Starbucks work just as hard as the people at my older jobs did, but they truely don't have the dedication or hard-earned qualifications those people do. But that is what it's like on this island - the goverment are so lax that Starbucks give some of the best pay on the island just because they are an american firm and actually have something called 'standards of pay'... which simply does not exist anywhere else in Cyprus.
Anyway, I deviated. I was happy because this morning, not having to work, I got to have a long lie in bed, and when I did actually get up it was late enough so that the shower water was HOT. Hallelujah!! I can't remember the last time I woke up and had a hot shower. We have solar pannels, as do most people on this microwave of an island, but unfortunately we aren't rich enough to have GOOD solar pannels. Just regular cheap ones... which finally heat up for around one hour after lunch.
Ok, time to go... I have last night's leftovers to eat for lunch. Yum.
