Conditions, conditions and Cannes.

Sometimes the news utterly bemuses me. Today I read this. In brief: 170 French policemen have vowed to go on strike during the Cannes film festival.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for peaceful strikes rather than mobbing goverment buildings and sticking pins under people's fingernails. But, really, what are these policemen trying to achieve? Apparently, they are trying to protest against their working conditions. Well.... good for them for taking action rather than moaning, but why the Cannes festival? Do they really think anyone there is going to give a flying froggie about their conditions? I say no, they'll all be too busy pretending to be overtly-knowledgeable about the Da Vinci Code and trying to catch a glimpse of Tom Cruise.

Oh well. Just my tattered bemused oppinion.

All the celbs have bodyguards anyway so the non amout of police might go unnoticed

Yup. They wont bother until bloody big traffic jams and loads of pick-pockets and such other nice festival attractions will start to appear everywhere.
