Corporate Support - Emminent Domain

The Supreme Court decided (5-4) to extend the rights of eminent domain for local government in order to obtain land for private economic use. (as opposed to its current use for public good)

I cannot say as I concur with this choice. I find it somewhat card blanche to let a village/city decide that it wants an industrial park somewhere to get IBM or someone to come in and declare eminent domain to boot everyone out. Granted, it is a job of a village/city government to provide job opportunities and growth for its citizens, but this seems too far into the realm of catering to the whim of a corporation over a private homeowner for my own comfort. I disagree with uprooting families for the sake of a corporation that can build anywhere in a city, but wants THAT prime location.

This isn't a situation of a bridge, public works, dam, or some other structure that benefits the whole public. I think this will be a big mess.
