Adventure Quest
I enjoy playing a lot of games. I stumbled across a game called Adventure Quest in 2003 and have played it off an on ever since. (not nearly as much as I play on the mud, hehe)
It is basically a flash, turn based rpg thematic game. I basically like it because they implement a system wherein your class is controlled less by your stats and more upon the type of armor you are wearing at the moment. For example, if you want to be a vampire slayer with slayer abilities, you buy the vampire slayer armor, take the ten quests to unlock the slayer armor, and there you are from thereafter (even if you sell the armor and buy it back later you are still the same level in that class as last you wore it). The class armors are a relatively new addition with Dragonslayer, Vampire Slayer, Fighter, Mage, Thief, Ninja being the first complete class armors so far. Defense is determined by armor choices and shields which bonus your raw MELEE/RANGED/MAGIC defenses. The highers these numbers, the more difficult it is to be hit, and the less damage taken (also dependent upon modifier type discussed earlier).
Races are rumored to be coming soon.
Damage/Resistance is based on two systems. Defense modifiers rely upon elemental (Fire/Water/Wind/Ice/Earth/Energy/Light/Dark) percentages on defense (which the higher the percentage, the more damage you take from that elemental type, whereas there is a possibility if a damtype defense is in the negative hp can be regained from a spell/weapon that hits from that type as well. The second typs
There are also stats in this game (strength, dexterity, intellect, endurance, charisma, and luck). These stats enhance hp, mana points, the ability to control pets, strength of spells, ability to avoid, luck rolls, etc.
Weapons range in the elemental types and many are capable of performing special attacks (summoning werewolves to your aid, calling the guardian dragon, power word death, etc)
I like the pet system too, where you can buy a pet that follows you about and attacks on command. Some of the more powerful types can heal your hp, your mana, etc.
Wars occur often, usually every weekend to every other weekend, wherein by the end of the stated number of kills (usually several million) the end of the War is released, where you get a reward (usually a rare weapon, pet, spell, etc)
The game is quite fun, even though it pretty much relies on the same click, attack, click, attack choices. There is no interaction with other gamers. You never war with other players. (just on the forums)
