Ok...I've been hooked on two lately. Stan Lee's "Who wants to be a Superhero" on SCI-FI just ended. As much as I thought Major Victory would have won it, he got eliminated 3rd to last. I had been going on and on about this show in the Dark Forums, until it got down to the final two of Fat Momma and Feedback, but the real money was on Feedback to win it and he did. He even looked great in his test footage, as the winner gets to be featured in a new Dark Horse comic and have a Saturday night feature film on SCI-FI. I think he'll be great. I'm pre-ordering the DVD set just so I can see all the crazy shit like the auditions.
"Rockstar: Supernova". I'm enjoying this year more than last years "Rockstar:INXS". The talent is better and more animated and they're singing to front a band with Tommy Lee, Jason Newstead from Metallica and Gilby Clarke.
This is the one year where I think a woman could win the slot. Dilana has my vote. She's like a modern day Stevie Nicks meets Joplin. Powerful and spot on in virtually every performance. Storm Large is just someoen you can imagine in a leather outfit singing while she beats you. When her time is done they'll be returning her pics to her website. Allegedly there's some pretty racey ones that were removed while she's been on the show. Maybe I just like female vocalists.
I still like this show much better than Idol because these are real singers from real unsigned bands who can actually sing. Sure, they grow within the competition, but the music is still all hot rockin' and no pop crap. I'm just sick of Idol. I never wanted to get into anyway and all th eones I pick never win because they're cool and they want pop dweebs. Anything chosen by pop culture is never any good. It's the votes of the mindless masses that determine the winners and the good go home. All those AI rockers should have gone to Rockstar instead.
