People ask me, what's it take to make a good home studio. Well, I've been trying my damndest to duplicate my engineer, J.J. Flash's studio for my own home production. So to answer that question and it's secondary, "Hey Darkstar, what kind of recording studio/equipment do you have?", I decided to show you what I have so far, which I believe would be a rather impressive bit of equipment.
After all, this is a music related site, right?
First, we start with the instrumentation/workstation. I'm reposting my pic of my machine.
Then we'll need a computer like my tricked out Dell e310:
1 gig RAM, 3gig processor, 60GB hd... you get the idea.
Oh...and we'll need to hear the music, so my birthday present of a pair of kick ass Samson Resolv 65a monitors should do well.

And we'll need a mic for vocals, so how about a Shure M-58

And lastly, some kickass bitchin' software like Propellerheads Reason 3.0

and for vocal syncing, Cubase SX

and somehow bury it all into a glass workdesk area in a small bedroom....

(I'll probably update this pic in the future with one that shows the monitor speakers on top just so you can fathom the humungous size of them)
And there you go... my home recording studio. What d'ya think?
