DarkMedia: TV and Cinema

R.I.P. "god" TV.

Touched by an Angel...Dead.
Joan of Arcadia...Dead.
Wonder Falls...EXTREMELY Dead.
Now the last of the heavy hitters after 10 years finally bites the big one:
7th Heaven is being mercifully laid to rest.

Why am I doing the Snoopy happy dance? It was only so long before the scales would tip again in the favour of supernatural occultism and hedonistic human shows.

The great idiot box has returned to its dark roots. Gritty dark police dramas and inspiring science fiction dancing with occult topics, the paranormal and the unexplained.

In discussions with people and in The Dark Forums, I had noticed that the struggle between the forces of light and darkness were tipping towards the lighter side a bit more. There's been way
too much real life confusion, especially in America. You have a Republican government which has lately been trying to shove god so far up our asses, we should be beaming lights like halos out of our skulls.
There's morality and then there's just anal overzealousness.

I mean on one side, there's those who blame god for all the natural disasters there are in the world. They say, "GOD is punishing us!" or "God is washing away all the evil doers" or "Allah will show his might and punish those American devils!" better yet on the other side they say "It's the DEVIL bringing this upon us!".

Ok... You have to admit, the extreme amount of natural disasters since last Christmas tsunami have been a bit much. The Earthquakes in the Middle East, the hurricanes stranger and more frequent than ever, the wild fires on the west coast... But its odd how we feel we must blame someone for our woes. Let's not forget HOW we place this blame and on whom. You blame an unseen deity for unexplained natural yet unfortunate events. Y'know it's like the caveman marveling at fire...until he learns to harness it. Now, how does one blame nature? I know I know...you're thinking that I'm heading in the direction of Global Warming Doomsday theory. Well I'm not. I'm rather tired of hearing about greenhouse gasses and our America, who is only 4% or the world population creating 24% of the CO2 it takes to generate this "greenhouse effect". They all make it sound like the threat would happen tomorrow or in one day or something.

But back to the fun part. Let's blame god for all these bad times. Hmmmm. We're taught to both love him and fear him. That's a little hard to do. I love my mom but I don't fear the little 5 foot woman. Why should I have to fear this "loving and forgiving" god? Next they blame the Devil. "Satan! HE brought this among us!" I swear , sometimes I just never
understand it. Not for nothing, but I don't think I've ever seen anywhere in the bible that shows Lucifer doing blatant heinous things on a mass scale, but when you read the bible, god brought down frogs, locusts, plagues and turn people into pillars of salt. For what? There's no videogames in "heaven"?

Ok...that was way too preachy for a post about the return of good Dark television. I'm gonna go now. I have a new website I need to go fill up before it gets officially open.
