Movie theaters: Reel fun or reel dumb?

I LOVE the movies. I love going to the movie theater. I love trailers... I love waiting for the show to start. I love getting my popcorn and sitting in a good theater with a huge screen and reclining seats, lifting up the armrest like a couch and clearing my ears for a helluva surround sound blast.

Although I have a surround sound home theater, the screen is only 32 inches (and I don't even think 60 is big enough in relation to the movie theater experience) however, it's just not the same.

I actually LIKE hearing other peoples reactions.

When Star Wars Episode IV: A new hope FIRST came out, and it was released in the theaters...no matter where you were in the world, moviegoers jumped up and shouted "YEA!" when the Millenium Falcon returned to save Luke and you felt like your heart exploded when the Death Star did. Everyone let our huge roars to the explosion of the evil Sith globe, and you felt a comradery with your fellow film goers. I like the crowd experience. I like concerts...I like movie theaters. I believe home review on dvd is just for catching what you may have missed. But thats just me. The only thing that ruins it is loud children and celphones.

Any opinions?
